Well designed parks form an essential part in creating vibrant, healthy communities. They are also an important part of maintaining human connection, civic engagement and an engaged civil society. They are catalysts for energizing the social commons by identifying shared goals and community projects. These projects highlighted by Park People are drawn from across Canada and illustrate this well. Each tells a story of communities coming together to create and strengthen shared assets that benefit everyone.
