The November events were very enthusiastically received. Still, there was a clearly expressed wish for a more complete understanding of the concept of the Commons and Social Commons in a Canadian context.
The planning group of family, friends and colleagues of Marvyn Novick have researched and studied the Social Commons furtherĀ (click here to download the Working Monograph on the Social Commons) and offer this space both to share our thinking and to promote further discussion of the usefulness of the concept.
Our particular interest is to explore the potential for a social commons framework to link active community engagement with progressive policy development for inclusive and equitable social protection grounded in human rights and dignity for all Canadians.
