The United States’ Imperial Foreign Policy Is the Deadly Enemy of Progress at Home

The dichotomy between the United States foreign and domestic policy is a long-standing issue. Looking at the notable commitment and action of the Biden administration on issues of racism, the environment, and social and economic justice, authors Levine and Zunes expose the contradiction between its domestic agenda and external global policies and practices. They maintain this divide is not viable and that US foreign policy, predicated on US-led global capitalism, will ultimately undermine efforts for fairness, equality, and ecological sustainability at home.

As they illustrate, the role of Government policy and its corresponding military intervention and support, not for democracy, but for tyrants, dictators who are both corrupt and brutal in their violation of human rights.  Supported by America, these governments openly suppress growing social movements, unscrupulously accumulate wealth and power, and participate in economic activities that destroy the planet. – Joey Edwardh
