If you are like me, buying furniture at Ikea was a staple of setting up your first household as an adult. It was a stage one went through in establishing one’s independence. But, sadly, it was also something that got junked or given away to younger siblings within the next five or ten years. Move forward thirty years, and the scale of throwaway items from Ikea has grown exponentially.

As this article from Fast Company makes clear, Ikea is working aggressively to clean up its act and has set a corporate goal to become fully circular by 2030. If successful, this is the kind of corporate leadership that will drive our distribution and retailing sectors toward a sustainable future.
