This recent study from the Conversation highlights that deaths were nearly three times higher in for-profit homes than in government run homes. But it also notes that the number of deaths in non-profit homes that were not government run, were about double the level of the government run homes. It agrees with other reports in documenting that for-profit homes should be phased out. But it goes further, calling for a thorough examination of the issues in non-profit homes that were not government run and suggesting that these be addressed as well. – David Thornley
